The National Guard Association of Rhode Island Seeks Volunteers for the Membership Committee

The National Guard Association of Rhode Island is currently seeking volunteers for its membership committee because of decreasing participation during 2008 within the state.
Army and Air Force commissioned and warrant officers interested in volunteering should contact Brig. Gen. (Retired) Joseph Waller at 401-792-0693 or jaycarowl@cox.net.
The committee’s goals are to inform members of the Rhode Island National Guard (RING) of the benefits of membership in the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) and the National Guard Association of Rhode Island (NGARI.)
The committee has generated a presentation explaining the benefits of NGAUS/NGARI, generated a postcard membership mailer for all members of the RING, provided recommendations to the NGARI website (www.ngari.org) that included enabling members to pay dues online, and is monitoring the results of the current membership drive.
Being a member of NGARI enables you to be your unit’s frontline of information regarding current and future issues like pay, retirement, manning, and the equipping of the force. It also allows Soldiers and Airmen to provide recommendations to improve NGAUS/NGARI programs that directly affect them and their families.
The committee which currently consists of members from the 1st Battalion 126th Aviation Regiment (Lt Alisa D'Agostino), 143rd Air Wing (Major Thomas Hannon), 102nd IWS (Lt. Charlene Marshall) and Brig. Gen. Waller (Retired), is asking for additional personnel to volunteer to help support this effort.
This is an opportunity to meet new people, boost your resume, and work toward a common goal with other Guard members. If you were previously a member, please think about joining the committee again.
